Who’s on the Mic is a running list of some of what the band is listening to on the road. So check in regularly to see who played what.
DJ-ing in a van full of musicians for a long drive is a delicate thing. A misfire can lead to musical mutiny and your status as DJ being revoked as we learned this morning due to the selection of a Metallica song pre-breakfast, but post a night of drinking. Fisticuffs were avoided and we are all back on speaking terms again as of this afternoon. Still in the aftermath tensions remain high.
In contrast, the right song at the right time is a many splendored thing. Whether it was this mornings perfect pairing of Oh Yoko with turning trees and rolling hills or last nights drive over the Potomac set to Mos Def’s Ecstatic, it has the ability to change the real into the surreal, instantly transforming your day to day into sepia stained 16MM or Hyper Real HD. So, without further ado, here’s what’s playing on WITW Radio. Lastly, we’d love to know what are your favorite road trip songs? Let us know we’ll give it a spin.
