Wires in the Walls - Super Happy Fun Times Blog
Home, where the music’s playin’…

So my goal here, was to write a recap of our East Coast Voyage. To reminisce, to relive, to reflect, etc. etc. But the truth is now that we’ve been home long enough to recover from brutal colds, and have taken enough time off that we can again stand the sight of one another, the trip refuses to come into focus. It is a blur. A collection of single moments, playing out in no particular order. I am struck most by the contradictory emotions of post-tour life. The ease  of sleeping in the same place every night. The comfort of a bed. The overwhelming sense of nostalgia for the not so distant past. The pride of shows played well. The embarrassment of missed chords and dropped tempo changes.  The euphoria of southern California’s paradise-like weather. The sadness of missing friends thousands of miles away and the desire to do it all again.

I would have to say that in my mind, the tour was a huge success. We played our hearts out, and I firmly believe we grew as a band. Also, we managed not to kill each other, a major plus. We were surrounded by people who’s enthusiasm and support was nothing less then legendary. The way we were embraced and provided for, by friends, family, fans, and strangers was amazing. We wish a thank you was enough, but for now it will have to do. So… Thank you all.

Inevitably when you finish something like this you end up looking forward to whatever is next. We are figuring it out as I write this. Completing the new EP seems to be first on the list, so look for that in the near future. Then it’s putting our nose to the grindstone and cranking out new music. We will try to do you all proud. If you find yourself in La La Land, we hope you’ll come out and see us and share a beer or two.

Until then, Over and Out.
